Chris Dornin

Founder / CEO

Chris Dornin founded DIG in 2010 and has since completed over $1 billion of multifamily, office, flex, industrial, retail, hospitality and performing, sub and non-performing loan investments totaling 3.2 million square feet throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Texas. Over the past 15 years, he has managed partnerships that have acquired over 600 residential properties and 6 million square feet of commercial real estate. Prior to DIG, Chris served as both Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Chase Merritt, a private real estate investment firm headquartered in Newport Beach, CA. In this position, Chris directed all of the company’s investment activities, oversaw portfolio management, managed the company’s capital relationships and was responsible for all of the company’s day-to-day operations.

During his time at Chase Merritt, Chris was directly responsible for the acquisition, leasing, renovation, management, and disposition of ~$500mm of commercial real estate including office, industrial, hospitality, and retail properties throughout California, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas. In addition, he was responsible for the raising and management of three discretionary private equity funds totaling $150MM that invested in foreclosed residential properties throughout Arizona and California.

Prior to joining Chase Merritt, Chris was a Vice President and Partner at Buchanan Street Partners. While at Buchanan, Chris successfully completed approximately $2 billion of joint venture equity, preferred equity, mezzanine, and debt investments in all property types throughout the United States. Chris played water polo at the University of California, Berkeley and is an avid surfer, snowboarder and swimmer.
